Baraked the Vote

It seems the whole world is happy about the election results, save for the McCain camp. The NY Times tells about world-wide reactions to the news.

Every time I come across stories about people's reactions or if I see pictures of celebrations, I cannot stop the tears from welling up. I am so proud of this country, for uniting together and making history. I am so, so happy to have been a part of it. My husband's 85 -year-old grandmother sent us an email today saying we should all realize that one day we're going to be telling our grandkids about voting in the most important election of our lives. And to borrow a paraphrased line from The Nation, you want to be on the right side of history when it comes down to it. And I feel like I was.

Thanks everyone - thanks for this renewed sense of hope. Thanks for my tears of joy.
